GIACOMO BELLANI
Dr. Giacomo Bellani is Associate Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine of the University of Milan-Bicocca, in Monza, Italy and intensivist at San Gerardo Hospital. During his training he had a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, MA and acquired a PhD in Biomedical technology at UNIMIB. His research is focused on ARDS and mechanical ventilation. He has been chairman of the Acute Respiratory Failure Section of ESICM and co-PI of the LUNG SAFE study. He authored more than 170 peer-reviewed papers, deposited five patents and delivered more than 150 invited talks. He recently edited the book: “Mechanical ventilation, from pathophysiology to clinical evidence”.
